Letting the helpdesk connect to your PC with TeamViewer

How the ClubRight helpdesk uses TeamViewer to remotely diagnose Welcome Screen, scanner, and access control issues.

When the helpdesk needs to diagnose a problem on your PC, for example a Welcome Screen, scanner, or access control issue, they may ask to connect to your computer remotely. ClubRight uses TeamViewer for this. There are two options depending on whether you need help there and then or want us to be able to connect when you are not available.

šŸ’” Start with the helpdesk. Always raise the issue first using the orange chat button in your application. The helpdesk will let you know if a remote session is needed and which of the options below to use.

TeamViewer QuickSupport

QuickSupport is for one-off help there and then. It does not stay installed, you run it only when you need support.

When you run QuickSupport, give the helpdesk representative your Session ID. It also helps to name your PC something recognisable, such as your club name, for example "My Gym (Reception)".

TeamViewer Host

Host is an alternative you leave running in the background while you work. It means we can connect in and help instantly, including when you are out of the office or otherwise unavailable, as we can connect without needing you at the computer. This is useful for access control PCs that run unattended.

When you set up Host, give the helpdesk representative the ID and Password shown in the program. As with QuickSupport, it helps to name the PC something recognisable, such as "My Gym (Reception)".

āš ļø Keep your computers secure. TeamViewer and TeamViewer Host are remote access tools. They are safe when used properly, but remote access software can also be misused as a route of attack. Keep all your workplace computers secure. ClubRight takes no responsibility for damage or loss of data resulting from poor security practices.

TeamViewer is a powerful support tool, but the orange chat button remains our primary support channel. Please raise all helpdesk requests there first.
