Sales Funnel Communication Automation - Email & SMS with Complete

Updated over 2 years ago

A key part of the Sales Funnel is that you can automate your outbound communications based on different stages in the funnel. This then means you can nurture those leads through a process of automated communications and into a sale.

So how do you set these up
Fundamentally the set up is very similar to how all Message automations are set up which is covered in the article in the button below.

The next steps highlight the way to use the Sales Funnel automations

Step 1
Go to Settings > Message automation

Step 2

Create a new automated message

Step 3
So in this example we are going to create an automated message for a New Enquiry by using the drop downs marked.

Setting relative to Sales funnel stage changed means this action will occur when the sales funnel stage changes ie moving a person from one stage to another

Rules will be the stage to which this action is related.

If you wanted to delay this communication going out you can specify the number days after to delay it

Step 4
It is then very simple to create the content in your email template that you wish to send out as marked.

Step 5

So if someone is set up as a new prospect you can also automatically put in the right stage and send out the communication that you wish to send.

Email 1 - In this example we are adding a prospect into the New Enquiry Stage

You can also automate any number of emails in a stage like below we have a few emails set ups you might use once someone has joined a stage.

Email 2 - sending out an email 5 days after the first email
You can then create a relevant worded email for a customer at stage New Enquiry by setting up a new trigger as marked 5 days after the first communication. The email will go out automatically as part of the series of emails you have set up for that particular stage.

Email 3 - sending out an email 10 days after the first email

You can then create a relevant worded email for a customer at stage New Enquiry by setting up a new trigger as marked 5 days after the first communication. The email will go out automatically as part of the series of emails you have set up for that particular stage.

We have only shown a series of 3 emails here but you can create as many as you wish per stage that will automatically be sent out, saving you time and growing your sales with hardly any heavy lifting.

Helpful Tips

  • Make sure you have planned out exactly all the email communications before you start to set them up.
It will save time but also ensure there is good logic behind when and where these are to be sent out

  • Note that when a customer is moved from one stage to another it will end the series of emails and start the series of emails for the new stage.
Example Move a customer from New Enquiry stage to Club Visit Booked the communications will change to match the stage the customer is now in.

  • Be clear in your communications with a goal in mind and ensure you do not for example bombard a customer with too many communications in a short space of time as this will actually turn the customer off rather than encourage them to be read.

Industry experts suggest between 4 and 6 emails per stage that are well spaced out will have a much better chance of getting a positive reaction

  • Also marketing experts recommend that you keep email content to be short and without images.

Avoid lengthy emails and also use of images.

Short concise text based emails have the best response
