ClubRight lets you restrict who can purchase a membership plan based on age. This is useful for junior plans, senior plans, or any membership where eligibility needs to be controlled. When a plan is age restricted, ClubRight will prompt the member to confirm who the plan is for before they can proceed.
How to set up age restrictions on a plan
Click the burger menu in the top left-hand corner and go to Settings.
Under Your Offerings, click Membership Plans.
Click the three dots on the plan card and select Edit.
In the left-hand menu, click Availability.
Under Age Restrictions, select Age Restricted.
Enter the minimum age and maximum age for the plan.
Click Save Changes.
Once saved, only members within the specified age range will be able to purchase the plan.
📋 Note: ClubRight cannot validate a member's date of birth. It is the club's responsibility to verify the information provided on registration directly with the member if required.
What members will see
When a member tries to purchase an age-restricted plan, ClubRight will prompt them to confirm who the plan is for. They can:
Assign the membership to their own profile
Select an existing linked profile (for example, a child's profile)
Create and link a new profile
This prevents memberships from being accidentally assigned to the wrong profile, which is particularly useful for junior memberships managed by a parent or guardian.
Example: junior gymnastics membership
A gymnastics club offers a junior membership for members aged 6 to 12. The plan is set to Age Restricted with a minimum of 6 and a maximum of 12. A 9-year-old can purchase the plan, but a 5-year-old or 13-year-old cannot. When a parent purchases the plan online, ClubRight prompts them to confirm it is for their child rather than themselves.
Important note on online registration
If the Turn off online sign-ups setting is enabled in your Member Area settings, the membership eligibility feature will not work as intended — members will be unable to register a new profile online. Make sure online sign-ups are enabled if you want members to be able to create linked profiles during the purchase flow.
💡 Helpful tip: Age restrictions work alongside the Shared membership type. If you offer a family plan, set the membership type to Shared and use age restrictions on your junior plans to ensure each profile is the correct age when being linked.
