ePoints are loyalty credit you can give to members to spend on products. They are a flexible way to reward, gift, and incentivise members at a lower real cost than a straight discount. One ePoint is worth 1p, and this rate is fixed.
Why use ePoints?
Reward loyalty: give points for attendance, purchases, or milestones, so members feel valued.
Sell credit and gift vouchers: members can buy ePoints as a product, for example £10 for 1000 points, to spend later or give as a gift.
Reward referrals: ePoints can be used as a referral reward instead of a cash discount.
High perceived value, lower cost: offering 300 points towards a protein shake can feel generous to a member while costing you less than a direct discount.
How ePoints work
Members build up an ePoints balance, either by buying ePoints as a product or by being awarded them. They can then spend those points on eligible products. For example, if a member uses 100 points on a £1 item, they will have 100p (£1) less on their balance. Because 1 point equals 1p, 500 points is worth £5.
Note: ePoints can only be used to buy products, not memberships.
Setting up ePoints
ePoints are set up through your products. There are two parts:
Let members buy ePoints
Create a product with the ePoints product type. This is the top-up members purchase to add points to their balance. You set the price and the number of points it gives, for example £10 for 1000 points.
Let members spend ePoints on a product
On any product you want members to be able to buy with points, set the ePoints option to Allow ePoints. Products left as Cash Only cannot be bought with points.
Both of these are configured in the product editor. For the full walkthrough, see Creating and setting up products.
Redeeming ePoints
Once a member has a balance, they can spend their points in two ways:
In the Member Area: members buy eligible products and pay with their ePoints balance.
At the till: when taking payment, choose ePoints as the payment method to redeem the member's points against the sale.
Note: Availability of ePoints may depend on your payment provider. If you are unsure whether ePoints are available on your setup, reply here asking to talk to a member of the Customer Success team.
Helpful tip: ePoints are a great way to reward members with something that feels valuable while keeping your real cost low. Use them for gestures of goodwill, loyalty rewards, and incentives where a points balance feels more generous than a small discount.
