On-demand video activities let you give members access to pre-recorded content, such as workout videos or recipes, in their video library. Unlike in-person sessions, which appear on the diary, on-demand videos are watched any time from the member area. This article explains how to create an on-demand activity, add video content to it, and control who can access it.
Creating an on-demand activity
Go to Settings, then under Your Offerings select Activities.
Click New Activity in the top right.
Enter a name for the activity.
In the Type dropdown, select On-demand video. (In-person sessions show on the diary, while on-demand videos live in the members' video library.)
Click Save & Edit to open the activity and add its content.
In the activity editor you can add a description, colour, and an image, the same as any other activity. The editor is organised into sections: What is this activity?, What add-ons are offered?, What content is available?, What resources are needed?, and Who can access it?
Adding video content
The What content is available? section is where you build the on-demand content members will see. Content is organised into sections (pages), and each section can hold videos and other content.
In the What content is available? section, select Add to create a new section.
Enter a Page Name, for example "Training Video", and click Add.
Open the section to edit it, then add your content. To add a video, use the video icon in the content editor and paste in the video's URL, then insert it.
Save your changes.
Note: Videos must be hosted on a video platform such as Vimeo or YouTube and added by their URL. You cannot upload a video file directly from your computer.
Members see each section as a course section on the activity page, alongside the description you added. You can create as many sections as you need.
Controlling who can access the content
Use the Who can access it? section to decide who can watch your on-demand content. You can:
Make it free for everyone: in the What content is available? section, tick Available to everyone. If this is not ticked, members need a qualifying membership or product to access the content.
Include it with a membership plan: link one or more membership plans so members on those plans can access the content. You can link plans here or manage it on each membership plan.
Sell access with a credit pack or product: link credit packs so members can pay for access, or set up a product for a one-off purchase. This lets you charge for on-demand content as a bolt-on or a standalone purchase.
Important: If no plans or packs are linked and the content is not available to everyone, the activity is staff-only and members will not be able to access it. Make sure you set the right access before sharing it.
Sharing your on-demand content
There are two ways to give members access:
Your on-demand library link: go to Settings, then under Your Club select Apps & Widgets. Under Where can members sign up and log in? you will find your On-demand Content link. This opens your whole on-demand video library, which members can access from your website. Members log in with their usual email and password.
A direct link to one activity: each activity has a Direct link to this activity shown in the activity editor. Share this so members can open that specific content in one tap, or paste it into emails and onto your website.
