There isn't a guest pass allowance you can add to a member's account. Instead, turn on Allow Tickets for the class so members can add a friend when they book, then give them a free monthly credit through their membership plan to cover the friend's place. This article explains how bringing a guest works, how to set up one free guest a month, how staff let guests in, and how to keep track.
How does a member bring a friend to a class?
With Allow Tickets turned on for a class, the member books it as normal and their own name is the first attendee. The basket then shows an Attendees section with + Add attendee and a Name of person attending box for each extra person. Each name takes a place in the class. It works the same way in the member app.
The member's own place is covered by their membership as normal. Each guest needs a credit for that class, either one the member already has, or a ticket they pay for by card in the basket. The membership itself never covers a guest.
How do I give members one free guest a month?
Turn on Allow Tickets for the class: go to Settings, under Your Offerings select Activities, open the class, and under How is it booked? > Ticket purchasing choose Allow Tickets. Save your changes.
Open the membership plan and, under Included Free Add-Ons, create a free add-on with 1 credit and set How often to Every month.
Go to Products, open the new add-on and tick the class under Which activities apply?. Save your changes.
Unused monthly credits don't carry over to the next month.
⚠️ Note: don't skip step 3. A new add-on isn't linked to any classes when it's first created, so members can't use the credit until you tick the class under Which activities apply?.
How do staff let a guest in when they arrive?
There's no separate check-in for a guest. On the class register, the guest's name shows under the member's row. Check the member in and the guest comes in with them.
Guests don't have a member profile, so they can't scan in on the Welcome Screen.
⚠️ Note: staff can't add a guest to a member's booking from the Diary. The member adds their guest when they book.
How do I keep track of how many guests a member has brought?
ClubRight doesn't keep a guest count against each member. If you use a free monthly credit, the limit looks after itself: once a member has used that month's credit, any more guests need another credit or a ticket paid for by card.
To see who a member brought to a class, open that class's register, where each guest's name shows under the member who booked them.
