Branded app: setting up your Google account

How to create a Google Play developer account, invite ClubRight in, and send us your Account ID.

Your app goes into Google Play under your business name, so it needs your own Google Play developer account. This is step 3 of setting up your own branded app.

Go to Settings > Your Club > Branded app > Set up your Google account.

Before you start

Have these ready:

  • A Google Account. A business one is best, because it will own the app.

  • Your D-U-N-S number (see Your business).

  • Your business phone number, the same one Dun & Bradstreet has.

  • A business contact email and phone number for the app, not personal ones.

  • A bank card (not a prepaid one) to pay Google's fee for a developer account. You'll find the details under What it costs you on the Branded app page.

1. Create your Google Play developer account

  1. Go to play.google.com/console/signup and sign in with your Google Account.

  2. When Google asks what kind of account, choose the one for an organisation.

  3. Enter your business details exactly as Dun & Bradstreet has them.

  4. Google sends codes to the email addresses and phone numbers you enter. Type each one in when asked.

  5. Pay the fee.

  6. Google checks your details, which can take a few days, so keep an eye on your email.

⚠️ Note: Google shows the seller's legal name, address, email and phone number on your app's page in Google Play, and everyone can see them.

2. Invite us in

This gives our team access to build and publish the app for you. You stay the owner, and you can remove us at any time.

  1. Sign in to Google Play Console.

  2. In the menu on the left, click Users and permissions.

  3. Click Invite new users.

  4. In the email address box, enter brandedapps@clubright.co.uk.

  5. Click the Account permissions tab and tick Admin (all permissions).

  6. Click Invite user.

3. Tell us you're done

  1. In Google Play Console, click Developer account in the menu, then About you.

  2. Copy the Account ID (a long number) into the Account ID box in ClubRight. You can also find it in your browser's address bar, after /developers/.

  3. Tick I've invited brandedapps@clubright.co.uk as an Admin.

  4. Click Save and go back.
