How much would I save if I switched from GoCardless to ClubRight Pay?

How ClubRight Pay Direct Debit fees compare with GoCardless, who saves, and how to work out your own saving with our pricing calculator.

For almost every club, switching from GoCardless to ClubRight Pay costs less. ClubRight Pay charges a flat fee for each collection, so once your average membership fee is above about £18 a month, you pay less than you would with GoCardless's standard pricing. The higher your membership fees, the more you save. To see your own figures, use the calculator at the bottom of our pricing page. The steps are below.

How do the fees compare?

ClubRight Pay Direct Debit charges a flat fee for each successful collection. The fee depends on your ClubRight plan, and current prices are on our pricing page. Failed attempts are free, and there are:

  • No setup fees

  • No minimum collection volumes

  • No contract or tie-in period

  • No hidden, line, amendment or bounce fees

GoCardless fees are set by your agreement with GoCardless. They usually include a percentage of each payment, so they rise as your membership fees rise. Your GoCardless invoice shows exactly what you pay.

Is ClubRight Pay cheaper than GoCardless?

For almost every club, yes. The break-even point is an average membership fee of about £18 a month. Above that, ClubRight Pay costs less per collection, and the gap widens as your fees go up. Clubs with higher-value memberships, such as PT studios and premium gyms, save the most.

Is there a savings calculator?

Yes. The calculator on our pricing page shows what ClubRight Pay would cost you each month:

  1. Go to clubright.co.uk/pricing and scroll down to What will I actually pay each month?

  2. Choose your ClubRight plan.

  3. Enter your number of members and your average monthly membership fee.

  4. Move the How do members pay? slider to 100% Direct Debit.

  5. Compare the Payment processing fees figure with what you pay GoCardless each month, shown on your GoCardless invoice.

Not sure how many Direct Debits you collect? In ClubRight, go to Payments > Balance & Activity and choose GoCardless in the provider filter and Successful in the status filter.

What happens if I switch?

Neither GoCardless nor ClubRight charges a transfer fee. Your existing Direct Debit members can be moved from GoCardless to ClubRight Pay without setting up new mandates. This is done as a bulk transfer during onboarding. See Bulk transferring your Direct Debits to ClubRight Pay for how it works.
