What is ClubRight Pay Direct Debit?

ClubRight Pay Direct Debit is a BACS-compliant Direct Debit payment service, fully integrated into your ClubRight account. It is powered by our Direct Debit partner London & Zurich, one of the UK's leading BACS-approved Direct Debit processors. London & Zurich are regulated and authorised by the Financial Conduct Authority (registration number 712747).

In short: London & Zurich handle the Direct Debit infrastructure and compliance, you manage your members and collections through ClubRight.

How it works

Once your ClubRight Pay account is active:

  • You can set up Direct Debit instructions for members online, by phone, or face to face

  • Members do not need to set the Direct Debit up with their bank, it is created from within ClubRight

  • Your collections run automatically on the dates configured for each member

  • Funds are settled to your business bank account within 4 working days of collection

  • The UK Direct Debit Guarantee gives your members the same consumer protections as any other UK Direct Debit

For full details on collection cycles, advance notice periods, and what to watch out for when freezing or cancelling memberships, see Direct Debit timings explained.

  • No setup fees

  • No contract or tie-in period

How long does setup take?

  • Application to active account: as little as 48 hours from application, subject to Money Laundering and Customer Due Diligence checks carried out by London & Zurich

  • First automatically collected Direct Debit: 6 working days from the date a new mandate is set up. This is the standard UK BACS Advance Notice Period and applies to all UK Direct Debits

For the full sign-up journey, see Setting up ClubRight Pay Direct Debit.

Showing your business name on member statements

By default, members will see "MyMembership" on their bank statements when ClubRight Pay collects their Direct Debit. This is the standard service user name for ClubRight Pay.

You can optionally upgrade to a Bespoke Service User Name (SUN), which puts your own business name on member statements (for example "Healthy Club"). Real-world data shows this typically improves collection performance and retention by around 3%, since members recognise the payment. For Bespoke SUN pricing, see clubright.co.uk/pricing.

If you already have your own Direct Debit Service User Number, contact us for a tailored quotation.

Moving existing Direct Debits from another provider

If you currently collect Direct Debits through another provider, your existing DD members can be moved across to ClubRight Pay without setting up new mandates. This is handled as part of your onboarding through a bulk transfer.

For the process, timelines, and what your members will see, see Bulk transferring your Direct Debits to ClubRight Pay.
