What is ClubRight Pay Card?
ClubRight Pay Card is a fully integrated card payment service that lets you take online and in-club card payments directly through ClubRight. It is powered by our payment partner Unipaas Financial Services Ltd, regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority.
ClubRight Pay Card works independently of ClubRight Pay Direct Debit. You can use ClubRight Pay Card for card payments while collecting recurring membership payments through any Direct Debit provider you prefer, or use both ClubRight Pay services together.
How it works
Once your ClubRight Pay Card account is active, you can take card payments in two ways:
Online: members enter card details when joining or paying through the member area. Cards are saved securely on the member's profile for future transactions.
In-club: using the ClubRight Pay Card integrated terminal at your reception or till. The terminal connects directly to ClubRight, so payments are recorded automatically without any manual marking.
Use ClubRight Pay Card for monthly recurring memberships, up-front and one-off membership payments, products, credits, and any other card transactions in your business.
Supported payment methods
ClubRight Pay Card supports:
All major credit and debit cards, including Visa, Mastercard, and American Express
Apple Pay and Google Pay for faster checkout on mobile devices
The integrated card terminal
ClubRight Pay Card includes an integrated card terminal for in-person payments. The terminal connects directly to ClubRight, supports Apple Pay and Google Pay, and is the recommended option for taking card payments at your reception, till, or anywhere in your club.
How much does it cost?
ClubRight Pay Card uses a per-transaction fee model:
No setup fees
No minimum transaction volumes
No contract or tie-in period
You only pay when a transaction is successful
For current per-transaction pricing, including standard UK cards and international cards, see clubright.co.uk/pricing.
International payments
ClubRight Pay Card supports international card payments. Transaction fees are slightly higher for non-UK cards, reflecting the additional cross-border processing costs. For current international card pricing, see clubright.co.uk/pricing.
What members will see on their bank statements
When a member pays by card through ClubRight Pay Card, their bank statement will show Ufs*{your business name}. The "Ufs" prefix is the merchant identifier for our payment partner Unipaas Financial Services, and the business name reflects your account's configured name.
Saved cards and recurring payments
Members can securely save their card details against their profile for future recurring or one-off transactions. Once a card is saved on file, no card needs to be present for future transactions, making it suitable for monthly recurring memberships and quick re-purchases.
Note: only the member can update their saved card details. Admin users do not have the ability to update card details on behalf of a member, for security and PCI compliance reasons. If a member needs to update their card, they can do so through the member area.
Refunds
Refunds can be processed against any ClubRight Pay Card transaction directly from the member's profile in ClubRight. For step-by-step instructions, see our Refund Guide.
Payout timings
ClubRight Pay Card payouts arrive in your business bank account on a schedule you control. For more on how payout timings work and how to change them, see ClubRight Pay Card Payout Timings.
Security and compliance
ClubRight Pay Card meets industry-leading security standards. Powered by Unipaas Financial Services Ltd, regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority, the service includes:
PCI DSS Level 1 certification, the highest standard for payment card security
Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Know Your Customer (KYC), and Know Your Business (KYB) checks for ongoing compliance
Continuous fraud monitoring to detect and prevent suspicious activity in real time
Card details are never stored within ClubRight directly. They are tokenised and held securely by our PCI-compliant payment partner.
Moving from Stripe to ClubRight Pay Card
If you currently use Stripe for card payments, you can move to ClubRight Pay Card without disruption to your members.
What are the differences between Stripe and ClubRight Pay Card?
Both Stripe and ClubRight Pay Card are integrated with ClubRight, so members enter their card details through ClubRight and all payments flow through ClubRight, regardless of which provider you use. The main difference is where the back-end reporting lives:
ClubRight Pay Card: transaction reporting is integrated within ClubRight, alongside your member, membership, and payment data, so you can review all your activity in one place.
Stripe: transaction reporting lives in a separate Stripe dashboard. You continue to manage members and payments in ClubRight, but to view detailed transaction reports, payouts, and disputes you log into Stripe separately.
A few other points to be aware of:
ClubRight Pay Card is supported by the ClubRight Customer Success team through your usual channels. Stripe support is handled separately by Stripe.
ClubRight Pay Card pricing is set by ClubRight. For current rates, see clubright.co.uk/pricing.
Can I migrate my current Stripe recurring payments to ClubRight Pay Card?
Yes. The migration process is quick and seamless, with no disruption to your members and no notification sent to them about the change. Your existing recurring payments continue under the same schedule, processed through ClubRight Pay Card going forward.
Can I keep existing members on Stripe while taking new members through ClubRight Pay Card?
Yes. Once ClubRight Pay Card is set up, all new card payments are processed through ClubRight Pay Card automatically. Existing recurring payments via Stripe continue as normal until each member's card details are updated. Once updated, all future payments for that member will be processed through ClubRight Pay Card.
