Viewing your messages in Conversations

How to find member messages from your ClubRight dashboard and the Conversations page, with filters, search, and groups to focus on what matters.

Conversations is your single hub for managing incoming messages from members in ClubRight. Replies to your group emails, in-app messages from the Member App, SMS responses, and system-generated communications all land here, so your team has one place to read, respond, and stay on top of member queries. This article walks through where to find your messages and the filters that help you focus on what needs your attention.

Two ways to find your messages

There are two routes into your messages, depending on how much you need to see:

Messages widget on your dashboard

Your ClubRight dashboard has a Messages widget showing the most recent member messages and replies you owe. When you have nothing outstanding, the widget shows You're all caught up. This is the quickest way to check whether anything needs your attention without leaving the dashboard.

Click View all in the top right of the widget to jump straight to the full Conversations page.

The Conversations page

For the full inbox view with filtering and search:

  1. From the burger menu, click Communication

  2. Select Conversations from the left navigation

You will land on the Conversations list, where every message thread is visible. The most recent activity appears at the top.

What you will see in the Conversations list

Each row in the Conversations list represents a thread of communication with a specific member. From the list view, you can see at a glance:

  • A star icon to mark the conversation as important

  • Member avatar or initials

  • Member name

  • The date and time the conversation was last updated

  • A channel icon showing where the message came from (Email, System, SMS, Chat)

  • A preview of the most recent message in the thread

Click any row to open the full conversation and view the complete message history in the reading pane on the right.

Filtering and searching your messages

When your Conversations list gets busy, several tools help you focus on a specific subset.

Quick filters at the top

Above the conversation list, three quick filters let you switch view instantly:

  • All: show every conversation

  • Unread Only: show conversations with messages you have not yet opened

  • Incoming Only: show conversations with an incoming message you have not yet responded to (filters out threads where the last action was yours)

Show / Hide filters in the sidebar

In the left sidebar, the Show / Hide section offers more granular filtering:

  • All: show every conversation

  • Incoming Only: conversations with an incoming message awaiting your response

  • Starred: conversations you have starred. Use this for member queries that need follow-up or that you want to keep visible.

  • Waiting for Reply: conversations where you have replied and are waiting on the member's response. Useful for checking who has not yet come back to you.

  • Archived: conversations you have archived. Use this to revisit a thread you have already dealt with.

Filter by member group

The Groups section in the left sidebar lets you filter conversations to just those involving members of a specific group (such as Bootcamp Group or Nutrition Group). This is useful for focusing on communication tied to a particular cohort or programme.

Search and refresh

Use the Search conversations field at the top of the list to find a specific conversation by member name or content. Click Refresh next to the search field to manually update the list with any new conversations that have arrived since you opened the page.

Where conversations come from

Several channels feed into Conversations, so your team does not have to monitor multiple inboxes:

  • Chat (Member App): messages members send through in-app two-way messaging

  • Email: member replies to group emails, bulk sends, and individual emails

  • SMS: member responses to SMS messages (if you have an inbound SMS number set up)

  • System: automated messages generated by ClubRight (such as reminders, confirmations, and notifications sent to members)

All of these arrive in the same Conversations list, so you can manage everything from one place rather than checking multiple channels.

Starting a new message from Conversations

If you want to start a new conversation rather than respond to an existing one, click the + New Message button in the top right of the Communication page. This opens the message composer so you can send to an individual or group without leaving the Conversations area.

Opening a conversation

To read a full thread, click any row in the list. The conversation opens in the reading pane on the right, showing all messages exchanged with that member in order. From there, you can reply to the member through Chat, Email, or SMS, mark the conversation unread, archive it, or star it for follow-up.
