Parent and guardian accounts

How parents and guardians can create and manage their children's accounts, memberships, and bookings from the Member App.

Parent and guardian accounts let a parent or guardian manage their children's ClubRight accounts directly from the Member App. This is ideal for clubs like dance schools or martial arts clubs, where a parent or guardian needs to oversee memberships and bookings on a child's behalf.

  • Parents and guardians can create and manage child accounts from their own Member App.

  • They can purchase memberships and book activities for their children.

  • All child accounts are accessible from the parent's profile, with no limit on how many child accounts can be linked.

Step 1: Set up the parent or guardian account

  1. Add the parent or guardian as a member in the usual way.

  2. Once their profile is set up, they are ready to add child accounts.

Step 2: Add a child account

  1. In the Member App, the parent opens the Profile tab.

  2. They tap Add Member.

  3. They then follow the same steps as adding a new member. A separate email address is not required for the child: the child's profile uses the parent's email address.

  4. The child's account is now linked to the parent's app profile.

Step 3: Manage child accounts

  1. Parents can purchase memberships and book activities for each child.

  2. Each child pays from their own profile, using their own membership, credits or saved card.

How do I pay for a class I've booked for my child?

A class you book for your child is paid from your child's own profile, using their membership, their credits or their own saved card. It is never taken from your card or your Direct Debit.

This is because you book by switching to your child's profile first, using Switch Club in the Member Area or the Switch Club tile in the app. While you're switched, everything you do is as your child, including the basket and which card is charged. It works the same way in the app and the online Member Area.

If your child doesn't have a saved card, you'll be asked for card details at checkout. The card is then saved on your child's profile.

💡 Tip: Clubs can rename Switch Club, so it may have a different name at your club.

Setting up your child's card in advance

  1. Switch to your child's profile using Switch Club.

  2. Go to My Profile > Payment Details.

  3. Select Add Card and enter the card details.

⚠️ Note: Club staff can't add a card for a child, but they can see what's saved in the Payment Methods panel on the child's profile. If a child needs to use a parent's membership, staff can add the child as a joint member on the parent's membership.

Viewing linked accounts in club

Child accounts are linked to the parent or guardian because they share the parent's email address. On the parent or guardian's profile, the children show in the Linked profiles strip, labelled "other profiles sharing this email", above the membership. Click a child's name to open their profile.

The strip shows every profile that uses the same email address, so it can also include other family members, or a duplicate profile if one has been created by mistake.

How do I unlink a child from a parent's account?

Give the child their own email address:

  1. Go to Contacts > All Members and open the child's profile.

  2. Click the pencil icon (Edit profile).

  3. Replace the email in Email with the child's own email address.

  4. Click Save Changes.

The child's profile, membership, bookings and history stay as they are, but the parent can no longer switch to the child's profile in the app. The child logs in with their new email address, using Forgot password on the login screen to set a password.
